Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the sway classifieds website, operated by sway classifieds of Swainsboro, Georgia, collects when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run a local classifieds site, and we don't sell your personal information.

• Account information: when you sign in, your email address and name, through our sign-in provider.
• Your ads: the title, description, category, location, photos, price, and any details you add, plus the contact email and optional phone number you enter for the ad.
• Messages to sellers: when you use Contact Seller, your name (if given), your email, and your message are emailed to the seller. We don't keep a copy of the message on sway.
• Payments: records of what you paid for and when. Card details go directly to Stripe; sway never sees or stores them.
• Usage information: pages you visit, actions on the site, errors, and session recordings that show how pages are used, collected with analytics tools.
• Security information: to prevent spam and abuse, we keep scrambled (hashed) versions of IP addresses and email addresses for rate limiting, never the original values, along with logs of site events.

Your ad is public while it's live: its title, description, category, location, photos, price, and details, plus your phone number if you chose to list one. Public ads can appear in search engines and link previews (Personals ads and sample ads are kept out of search engines).

Your contact email is never shown on the site. Shoppers reach you through Contact Seller, and when you reply to them, they will see the email address you reply from.

We share information only with the companies that help us run the site, for those purposes:

• Clerk: sign-in and accounts
• Supabase: database and photo storage
• Stripe: payments
• Resend: sending Contact Seller emails
• PostHog: analytics, error reports, and session recordings
• Cloudflare: domain, DNS, and email forwarding

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm or fraud.

sway uses cookies and similar browser storage to:

• keep you signed in
• remember, for a limited time, that you confirmed you are 18 or older for Personals
• measure how the site is used (analytics)

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them may sign you out or ask you to confirm your age again. Many browsers and privacy extensions can also block analytics tools.

You can edit or delete your ads at any time from My Ads. To delete your account, or to ask what information we hold about you, email support@swayclassifieds.com. We keep payment records as long as the law and our payment processor require, even after an ad or account is deleted.

sway is not intended for children. You must be 18 or older to create an account or post an ad.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
